この独特な茶器は轆轤成形後、土がまだ柔らかいうちにこの形に変形し全体を整えて素焼する。まず透明柚を掛け、直近の今古釉（焼き上がりが白っぽくなる）に浸ける。酸化焼成。
蓋の材料に黒柿を選んだのは、木目や色が月を隠している夜の雲を思い起こさせ、器体の白と蓋の黒で“陰陽”になり、その蓋を開けた時には中の緑が一際鮮やかに目に入る。
５弁のかたちは、８月中、下旬、９月には桔梗の花になり、年中星形として使え、特にクリスマスにはよろこばれる。どんな棚にも、立礼棚にも良く映る。蓋は中川周二作。

This distinctive tea container was made on the wheel and altered into this shape while still soft. After bisque firing a clear glaze was applied all over followed by a full dip in a recent batch of my Konko-yū glaze that fired particularly white. To highlight the beauty of the white glaze, I chose a piece of black persimmon wood which is reminiscent of night clouds hiding the moon. This yin/yang like combination is particularly effective when the host removes the lid to reveal the brilliant green color of fresh green tea!
This 5-pointed shape can be used in various seasons. It represents a bellflower in September, a star all year round, but Xmas especially, or a white plum blossom in Spring. The toriawase options are unlimited and it also looks elegant on any type of tana.
The lid was carved by Shuji Nakagawa.
